RTA Assessment Tests

A reminder to those of you who have applied for an apprenticeship via RTA and have been invited in to take an assessment test over the half term holidays. Don't forget to check the date and time, this could be the first step into securing an apprenticeship. Good Luck.

NCS The Challenge 2019

I have recently received an update from Stephen Hanson of NCS The Challenge informing me that to date we have had 69 Year 11 pupils who have signed up to the programme. The highest number we have ever had sign up was 73 and I am eager to better this number. Access Creative College Open Events

The Access Creative College in Manchester are to hold a number of Open Events at their premises at St James' Buildings, 65 Oxford Street, Manchester M1 6FQ. These events will be of particular interest to those pupils considering a future in the music, games and media industries. The taster days and open events provide a great opportunity for both parents and pupils to see the campus, meet tutors and current students and find out more about careers. Here are the details of the forthcoming events:

Open Days

Saturday 30 March starting at 1.30 pm until 3.00 pm

Taster Days

Friday 22 February 10.00 am until 12.30 pm and 1.30 pm until 4.00 pm

Bury College Open Evening

Bury College are to hold an Open Evening on Wednesday 27 February. The evening will commence at 5.30 pm and conclude at 7.30 pm. The evening will give both parents and pupils the opportunity to take a look around the facilities, speak to subject tutors and students about their respective subjects and course content./p>

Apprenticeship Opportunities

There are currently 270 apprenticeships and 44 traineeships available in the Rochdale, Middleton and Heywood area, covering a wide range of sectors. Whilst you may not yet be eligible to apply, it is well worth taking a look at what range of apprenticeships are available. For more information check out www.rochdaleapprenticeships.org/.

RAF Engineering Opportunities

The RAF are currently accepting applications from Year 11 students for the Defence Sixth Form College. Applicants must score a minimum of 45 points for their best 7 subjects (which must include both Maths and Science) and achieve the following:

B/6 6
C/5 5
4 5
D/3 4
