The Hollingworth VLE is currently working again after Firefly undertook maintenance on the site to investigate the issue. We are also looking into alternative provision to online learning, should we continue to experience problems. Many thanks for your patience.

Year 11 Mock GCSE Examinations

Good Luck to all of our year 11 pupils taking their GCSE mock examinations next week.

The Manchester College Open Event

Just a reminder to students that The Manchester college is holding its School Leaver and Adult Open Evening on Thursday 5th March at 5pm-7.30pm. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to see their campuses, meet the tutors and find out about their exciting industry led courses. The event will also provide students and parents a chance to speak to Student Support Teams and engage with their Careers, Employability and Welfare teams to discuss any post-16 routes and careers as well as the opportunity to meet current students through their student ambassadors programme. There will be a range of interactive activities based on students areas of interest to get students engaged and promote the courses available.

Apprenticeship Opportunities Rochdale, Oldham & Middleton

There are 105 apprenticeships and 42 traineeships vacancies at the moment in the Rochdale, Oldham and Middleton area. These range from Accounts, Administration, Barbering, Business and Administration, Childcare, Customer Service, Dental Nursing, Engineering, Hair and Beauty and many more.

If you are interested in an apprenticeship or traineeship after leaving Hollingworth in the summer, I would recommend that you take a look at what is on offer. Whilst you may not yet be eligible to apply, it is interesting to note what range of opportunities that there may be open to you.

SETA Open Day 2020

The SETA Training and Skills Academy, Stockport are hosting an Open Day on Wednesday 11 March from 10.00 am until 8.00 pm. This will be of particular interest to those pupils who are interested in an Engineering apprenticeship post Hollingworth. For more details please see below.

Their Open Evening gives you the chance find information on the courses they offer, their commercial establishments such as the Riverside Salon, Riverside Restaurant and Sports Arena, their free buses and learner benefits and much more.

They're renowned for putting their learners first and offering facilities that are as good as and often better than industry-standard and they want you to go and see it all for yourself.

Think they're just a college for school leavers? They have a range of Adult, Part Time, Apprenticeship & Higher Education pathways as well as many full time courses.

Northern Racing College

Go along to one of their Open Mornings, where you will meet the NHC team, enjoy watching a riding demonstration on the gallops (weather permitting), explore their unique facilities, have a go on the simulators, meet the horses and get an overview of what the foundation course will involve.

The Open Morning starts at 10am prompt (please arrive for 9.45am) and finishes around 12.30. Remember to wear suitable clothing and footwear as the majority is outdoors.
