Future Friday Blog

Friday 27 November 2020

Hi Everyone

Welcome to our weekly blog. I hope you are all keeping well and looking forward to the Christmas holidays. I hope that we can all manage to enjoy Christmas such as it will be this year, even though for some of us, it may be that we'll not be seeing some of our family members. If it means that we can all look forward to a happier, healthier and safer year next year, then it will be worth it.

COLLEGE APPLICATIONS

I am concerned at the number of pupils who have yet to submit a college application. There are 126 pupils who have yet to submit an application. Time is quickly running out with deadlines fast approaching. If you have not already done so, stop putting it off and do it today. There are a number of pupils whose names I have forwarded to their tutor groups who have not submitted their Oldham Sixth Form College applications successfully. If you have applied to the college, please double check that you have submitted them successfully by accessing your application and ensuring that you have completed all sections and pressed the submit button. This applies to all applications, no harm in checking that they have been successful.

See below for details on how some of the colleges are offering support during the application process.

Choosing a college course is an exciting and important decision to make. To help support pupils who want to apply but are unsure which course to apply for, the College has introduced a new option on the application form where applicants can request a chat with a member of our curriculum or a general Information Advice and Guidance (IAG) appointment. Once the pupil has submitted their application, the College will then contact them to arrange an IAG appointment.
