Travel Arrangements

Free bus information can be found on our website Hopwood Student College Services . You can also apply for an Ourpass which will allow you free travel all year around if you live in the Greater Manchester area. Ourpass

Please note, if you are unhappy with your current course choice and would like to change to something else then please email administration Hopwood Hall with your full name, date of birth, the course you have applied to and what you would like to change it to.

Following current Government guidelines you may be required to do some of your study sessions at home. Please get in touch by emailing administration Hopwood Hall with your full name and date of birth if you do not have the facilities to do this. (Laptop/PC/Wifi etc.)

The Bury College

Be Bury College Ready

To keep your students engaged over the summer break we would be grateful if you could remind your pupils about the Be Bury College Ready Website. It offers a range of brand-new tips, tools and resources to help prepare your year 11 pupils for their next steps in starting College: Be College Ready


We have also launched an innovative new podcast to support Year 11 pupils as they prepare to transition from school to college. During this exciting podcast, the Bury College High School Liaison team discuss a range of topics including enrichment opportunities, work experience placements and student support. Virtual Tour

To support your pupils in the transition to college, as well as the Be Bury College Ready resources, we are currently developing an interactive campus map inviting pupils to take a virtual tour of the college and our facilities, as well as access course information and any additional resources. We will be in contact as soon as this is available.

As well as the information displayed above, we now have a section dedicated to our Year 11 School Leavers which can be accessed on the school website. Just click on the iink where you will find all the latest information with regard to all of our local FE and Sixth Form Colleges as well as apprenticeship providers. The information focuses on the start of the new academic year in September, and all you need to know to get yourself ready for the next step for your future.



Positive Steps are now offering an online booking system for pupils to book a virtual interview with Lynsey our Positive Steps Adviser:

It’s Lynsey from Positive Steps Careers Service, I am linked to Hollingworth Academy and I am here to support you during Key Stage 4.
Your appointment with your Adviser to is help you think about what you might want to do in the future and longer term. They can give Information, Advice and Guidance on different pathways for when you finish Year 11, including different types of College and Work Based options. They will help you work out which pathway might suit you best and advise on what grades you might need to achieve your goals.
After your appointment you will receive a Progression Plan based on your discussion with your adviser. This will outline a summary of the information they gave you and action points of things you need to do next, such as attend open days, research a career and complete applications."

We are aware that with the cancellation of this year’s OSFC Taster Days that Year 10 students from our partner schools have not been able to try out the subjects they are looking to study and experience a typical student day at college. The newsletter is available online via this link:

Year 10 Course Information

You will all already be aware about our virtual New Students’ Day for Year 11s on Monday 6 July. We are planning to open up this event and information to Year 10 students over the summer following the live event. This website will be a really good resource for your students to learn more about each of our individual courses, Xtras programme and college life. Further information will be circulated after the event date.


Autumn term open days: As things stand it looks as though our Autumn term open events are likely to be delivered as virtual events, provisional dates for these are Saturday 16th October and Thursday 12th November, however, should government guidelines around larger gatherings change, we will change to physical open days instead.
